Bremont’s latest Broadsword field watch features a sandwich dial
Bremont has unveiled its Broadsword Recon watch, the latest in a series of timepieces to receive approval from the UK Ministry of Defense.
Bremont has unveiled its Broadsword Recon watch, the latest in a series of timepieces to receive approval from the UK Ministry of Defense.
The design of the Broadsword collection pays homage to the Dirty Dozen field watches produced for the military during World War II.
The Recon features a matte black sandwich dial (first seen on Bremont’s collaboration with Bamford London) with cutouts on the numerals and a vintage taupe luminous glow that glows green after hours.
Like the dirty watch, there is a simple small seconds display at 6 o’clock, but unlike the field watches of the 1940s, there is also a date display at 3 o’clock.
The 40mm stainless steel watch uses the chronometer-grade BE-95-2AV movement; an improved version of ETA 2836-2, equipped with Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring, 38-hour power reserve and Bremont decorated skeleton oscillating weight.
Sold with a stone and gray striped NATO strap, optional additional rubber or leather straps are also available.
