An old (10 yearsor more ) game that despite regular updates & changes over the years, is widely regarded as OSRS Gold a classic not being the “next thing” ( similar to MOH & Counterstrike – still alot of players but not regularly maintained aside from servers that are generally player responsibilities)

A significant bias among gamers towards Runescape as “a kiddies/starter MMORPG” . Like the first point, regular maintenance and updates in the course of time disprove this notion. This gives the game a greater depth and quality than the rumours, but many won’t even look due to the information they’ve heard.

A poor marketing strategy. Jagex/Insight Ventures still heavily rely on online advertising & word-of-mouth, with some exceptions like the gamer awards and occasional TV advertising. This draws the game into the eyes of those who would not even be aware. The only other mentions in the mainstream media of Runescape tend to be in news articles where the slant is definitely negative (theres been a handful of scammer/pedophile cases over the years) that may draw attention but usually not of the sort that is desired.

SORWT SOF is an attempt at maintaining cash flow in a declining community. This is due to people quitting playing, aging, and fewer new players every year. It doesn’t solve the issues I brought up. This is a minimal cost solution to an issue however it is creating more. I’m not a CFO, and Buy RS 2007 Gold I don’t have access to the books, but the constant adjustments suggest that it’s not working as intended.
