Dialogue is just half of the equation there though. I believe it’s equally as significant that the villagers do not do just as Animal Crossing Items much. They do not see your home anymore or program times to meet. They do not visit as many places since there are fewer in the game.
Adding Brewster’s Café to Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t compensate for all that’s lacking in characterization alone, but they do need to add more activities that flesh out the’lifetime’ of their villagers. You need to begin somewhere. It’s not nearly wether they state preferences or perspective, but also that they can do enough verbs they seem to have culture and lives.
Plus, 80% of the motive to visit Brewster’s Café is dialog. The villagers express their unique preferences in beverage, around which you form a connection with them. Then they share unique blurbs in their day-to-day life. That is conversation and characterization.
It’s only 1 example of countless shops and NPC’s that could be inserted and give your city more depth. It is not just the coffee shop, there’s also Katrina, Gracie’s shop, Tortimer island (or something like this ), Wendall, Kicks’ shop, the police station, etc..
I mean sort of, but they still can add/bring back the real shops. Especially Gracie’s shop, yes Labelle comes and offers you her designer clothes, but that is nowhere near the quantity of special furniture and clothes that you might get in Gracie’s shop.
I am a Massive fan of New Horizons. I’ve been playing Animal Crossing since the first game and I think that entry is far and beyond the best one in this collection.
But as of a few months before, I am majorly losing interest, and I need more information, and the upgrades seem to be getting smaller and smaller. I don’t even have high expectations–more hair styles, more useful furniture (instead of super-niche holiday stuff), more harvestable plants, more hair styles, more buildings (cafe, authorities station), more hair designs, gyroids, more hair styles, etc..
Yeah I mean that I wouldn’t mind paying to get a significant content upgrade honestly. This is the buy Animal Crossing New Horizons Bells first AC game where I really completed the entirety of the museum and now I can’t say I have anything left to do. There’s no way I would pay for any more content, it should be totally free DLC!
