The graphics mentioned in NBA 2K9 were a welcome boost since one of the issues that players had with NBA 2K7 was that the animations and player models did not hit the marks. While that was a glaring issue, the game was a success in all other areas.
The gameplay was hugely popular Street mode and the Association mode were equally very well-received. One cool feature for the PlayStation 3 was the ability to shoot free throws with the same motion as a real shot. The cover athlete was Shaquille Oleal.
NBA 2K7 was actually Shaq’s second consecutive year on the cover. It was first seen in NBA 2K6. He joined Allen Iverson as the only two players to have several solo covers at the time. The album was highly praised for aspects such as the presentation, soundtrack, and the gameplay. There were some issues with the controls, and it felt as if it was a copy of the previous one.
